Listed below are few successful advertisements and their brilliant strategies that is being borrowed and referred to till this day.

NIKE - JUST DO IT CAMPAIGN

Nike just did it by striking the emotional chord of their customers/audience. Their Just do it campaign featured athletes both amateurs and professionals struggling and pushing boundaries to meet their target. The just do it campaign asked people to do it already rather than making plans. Nike went ahead cleared their purpose of existence as a sports brand and inspired millions of struggling athletes and people alike across the globe. Their strategy saw success when people responded with their stories of struggles and achievements.

A similar campaign was Procter and Gamble’s (P&G), thank you mom. The advertisement was addressed to and showed the mothers of athletes and champions who were the constant support and love throughout their journey to glory.

Both the advertisement won hearts by establishing an emotional connect with the audience. This is the emotional or nostalgia marketing technique.

DOS EQUIS- MOST INTERESTING MAN IN THE WORLD

Dos equis wrote a character in his 70s to promote their beer brand. He was not just the bravest and smartest man on earth but he was the most interesting man who smoked Cuban cigarettes and is always surrounded by beautiful womenThese advertisements usually show the adventures of the interesting man and always ended with the lines “I don’t always drink beer, but when I do, I prefer Dos Equis. Stay thirsty my friends.”  The most interesting man advertisements stayed around for a long time that soon became a popular internet meme. Dos equis was successful to create a character that stayed in the imaginations of the people.

Although recently the most interesting man was replaced with a younger actor but the first ever most interesting man stays immortalized among the viewers. And that is how an advertisement should be made.

METRO TRAINS -DUMB WAYS TO DIE

The campaign was made by Australian metro authority as part of public safety announcement. The musical video displays dumb cartoon characters that die in dumb ways like poking a grizzly bear with a stick, eating expired medicines and so on. It ends by saying that the dumbest way to die whatsoever will be falling off metro platform, crossing the railway track, or ignoring the railroad sign. This adorable music video caught attention of people worldwide and reminded us to guard our safety every time we travelled by train. This is great example to learn how boring and uninteresting public safety announcement can be made interesting just by involving some creativity.
